Just a tip from experience it's best to add cardboard in between as the direct heat can crack your glass. good luck today!

I did this a few years ago after watching a tiktok by @Ann Russell She/Her and, due to the heat, the tinfoil etched onto the glass. I have never been able to remove the marks since. I hang towels or those car reflective sun shades on the outside of the windows now and they work brilliantly.

hey! I grabbed some emergency blankets/space blankets (the things they use to keep people warm in an emergency situation) and taped them on the inside of the window and it works pretty well and still lets some light through

i would also hang towels or bedsheets on the inside of the window too!! the sunlight will heat the window but so will the air. you want to block out the heat w layers as much as possible rather than keeping just the sunlight out!!
