@asherivey: Cats do not need tools like this for training. Ever. They do not respond to corrections the way dogs do, and it is completely unsafe for them to be wearing gear like this. If this had simply been a case of lacking knowledge in the beginning, it still would have been irresponsible. However, if the handler had listened to the concerns being raised and switched to appropriate gear, I don’t think there would be much left to discuss. Instead, we’ve chosen to double down, defend the use of the equipment, and now have gone private. I genuinely hope the proper changes are being made off camera and that this cat’s safety is being prioritized moving forward. #servicedog #servicedogintraining #servicedogcommunity #dogcommunity

I might get hate for this but I personally don’t like service cats mainly because EVERY service cat I have seen had absolutely no interest in the handler and most of the time have so random paper vest which I have no hate against any vest except Ive seen cardboard CB handles and strings as a guide handle/pull strap that’s where I feel like people just like how it looks because obviously mobility equipment can’t be cheaply made nor on a cat even me with a dog that does fmp that all she does that requires pulling and I only use well made pull straps I have gotten hate for it so that’s just my personal opinion
