I don’t think taking regular trash bags is a plus. Nowadays it’s easy to buy “speciality” products like diaper genie liners. I’d rather have a product that does the job right, even with a speciality consumable. Instead of doing a comprimised job with things you have on hand. I had a diaper genie and while the plastic was crap quality, when I used quality liners it did a great job at containing the smell.
