Looks like they cut have through it on back side to allow for the bend without as much force pushing back.

It’s got a relief cut about 80% of the way through It’s gonna be fine. This is arguably a better method than just budding the two pieces together.

They had to partially cut the plywood to get it to bend that much. Just cut all the way through and install two separate pieces. Literally the exact same amount of work actually easier to install with two pieces.
