Are we forgetting during episode 7 (remember for all they knew this was legit) that he forced everyone to stay in the circus because he was scared of facing the consequences of possibly ending his mother?? This character is the embodiment of selfishness and insecurities.

pomni is given zero reasons for wanting to help jax and yet she does everything in her power to save him. he isnt outcasted from the group, they accept him with open arms. he is defended from his own crimes by pomni. characters who have valid reasons for hating him are reduced to crying maidens. he doesnt do a single thing nice for anyone else but everyone else becomes subservient to jax in a literary sense. the narrative is quite literally forcing its cast to love jax

nobody forgave him in the circus they just understood him. his consequence is never being able to have that closure or give that apology, his consequence was facing the gravity of his own actions. his consequence is never being able to come back from what he’s done.

The other issue is that, even with the knowledge that show wants us to sympathize with him, Jax abstracting was sorta of nothingburger. There's no tension of at what moment he'd abstract or even the danger that he'd attack someone. He's just abstracted and everyone is already safe away from him. 🙄
