Worked a cargo agent for an airline company and they didn’t allow us to have lunch breaks because “we were always short handed”. Yeah that’s not my problem that we’re short handed when YOU are the supervisor or manager. You don’t write up people, not hire new workers or anything. I wasn’t getting paid more for the OT or not given more days off during the week after making 40 hours.

Idk about American people but in the Philippines, it's in the law that workers have the RIGHT to a 60 minute break. However if the company decided to cut that — for example, into 4-15 minute breaks — it'll be counted as "hours worked" because of how short it is, and thus will be paid.

at my last job I worked 10 hr days so I'd take an hour lunch break. But if we were really busy I either wouldn't take lunch at all or I'd only take a half hour. I was a car cleaner at a car rental place. I didn't get 15 minute breaks so if I got hungry I'd just go inside & eat something real quick then go back to work.
