So judging by the comment section, THIS is gonna be an unpopular opinion. But speaking as someone who has worn prescription glasses since 3rd grade, I firmly believe that people buying glasses as accessories is partly to blame for how insanely expensive they’ve become. Once people started using glasses as a fashion accessory, manufacturers started to fancy themselves designers rather than producers of an actual accessibility device. So now people who actually NEED them so see are being priced out because others are willing to pay more for them to use them like a piece of jewelry.

As a disabled person who wears glasses- its not at all like using a cane or crutches when you don't need one. glasses have been worn as fashion for a long time and I see no issue with it

I have a -10 prescription and literally can't function without glases/contacts so I think I'm qualified to speak on this lol. I think it's a little silly and I can always tell when someone is wearing fake glasses, but I really don't care nor does it offend me. Some people really do look good with glasses (Adam Driver in House of Gucci for example).
