I learnt that very early even before getting married. I set my boundaries straight, my husbands family are not my family and his friends are not my friends & vice versa. I don’t go out of my way to make anyone appreciate me and I don’t try to impress anyone. I set my boundaries by not being overly friendly with them.

Wish this could be true . My mil assigns tasks to me with chores the whole day and almost has a heart attack when my husband helps out, there is no such thing like this living with in laws
