@travismayo: The name Jesus doesn't appear in the original texts. The man was called Yeshua. An Aramaic name common in first century Judea. It passed through Greek then Latin then English before becoming the name most people grew up with. And Christ was not his last name. There were no surnames in first century Judea. Christos in Greek means the anointed one. A title. Yeshua the Christ means Yeshua the Anointed. The Gnostics believed Christos was not only a person who lived. It was a state of consciousness available to anyone. Luke 17:21 says it directly. The Kingdom of God is within you. #TravisMayo #learning #Yeshua #Jesus #AncientWisdom
So. Like this it makes so much more sense to me. Thank you so much.

House of Bread :
Well, the person Yeshua (Jesus) who is the anointed one (Christ) is the Messiah. That is the point of the gospel. The Gnostics completely missed the point that Jesus Christ is the messiah who was born of a women who is God-man according to the prophecies eg . Isaiah 9:6. The Gnostics believed Jesus was not a human being which denies, his work, suffering, death and resurrection entirely.
Nevertheless, It doesn't change the meaning or who we referring to when we call upon the Name of Jesus Christ

I have something to say about that.
the christ, you are right, means the chosen one, but also includes the word kenosis and that involves a blood sacrifice since Abraham cut a pact with God. My personal take.

Great explanation. In some books Christ is from the level of consciousness. Christ Consciousness is what Jesus acquired, and when it left his body he felt naked and afraid, saying Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me…

He is spot on! 🤯 People are always shocked by the actual history of biblical texts.
Next, you should tell them how the Bible is really a centuries-old anthology compiled by different groups over hundreds of years, not a single book just put together by the first Pope. I live for dropping historical facts like this to clear up misconceptions. Keep spreading the knowledge! 👏📖

Sharp observation, I studied the Bible my entire youth and i could only conclude exactly this point for myself… it’s lost in translation and molded into something it’s never meant yo be… all Abrahamic religions are not pure no more because of this, it’s completely corrupted by humans. Just as all the scriptures warned us about. 🤨

His story never moved into Greek... it was only ever in Greek. There's no Hebrew manuscripts to suggest the New Testament was ever in Hebrew! 😉

thank you !! Yes but not the translation the manipulation through language...ie in the scripts words like Σοφια they didn't change it because the meaning is not apply to other ethnicity but the word ΜΕΣΟΣ ( between in the MIDDLE) "Translated" !!! Messiah...Asimov understood this in his book Gods to themselves ❤️😃😁
