@patriotickennyfdn: If you know Kenny, you know he loved his country, flags, veterans, and TRAINS. Kenny loved the history of trains, his own experiences hopping trains on West 7th Street in St. Paul as a boy, his connection of trains to his time in the service, the chug chug chug, the choo choo, and especially the journey itself. He enjoyed slowing down and being able to take in the beautiful countryside. One last train ride was one of the items left on his bucket list. The only direct route from St. Paul was to Seattle, WA, so we booked it. Sadly, Kenny passed away before he was able to make this trip, but we wanted to finish one of his final requests. The “1/2 Crew” brought Mini Kenny along for the ride and spent the journey imagining all the things he would’ve loved, all the conversations we would’ve had, and all the memories he would’ve recalled. As the tracks carried us through mountains, forests, rivers, and cities, it felt like Kenny was right there with us. THANK YOU to @USAA from the bottom of our hearts for making this experience possible. Because of your support, we were able to honor Kenny’s wish and experience this incredible journey in a way that will stay with us forever. Somewhere between the scenery, the memories, the miles (and the delicious meals), this train ride became so much more than just a train ride; it became a tribute to a man we all so dearly love. ♥️ This is part 2 of the Train Ride series.
