I think we need to acknowledge that American history will repeat itself. We want to say “how could anyone support him” but we’ve been doing this shit for 250 years. We need to talk about the problems of the past more without just saying that’s “how it was back then and we’re different now”. Because we are not. Humans are not good people especially when it comes to greed and power time and time again. We truly are no better than our ancestors as a whole
