will this have any effect on grandparent rights if the parent keeping the children from their grandparent is found to be a DV issue? I'm helping my grandchilds parent in their custody case against my own child who is now keeping that grandchild from the entire family that they've grown up with and a new baby that we aren't allowed to meet

But if they were just found guilty of committing domestic violence a few months ago in the final orders how can this law not help??

Read through the law what people aren’t discussing is even if you do end up getting sole custody because there’s domestic violence there are provisions to help the abuser go through the system to rebuttal and win back parenting time and decision making… right?

What if there was domestic violence on both parties, both got 50/50 custody, but now 3 years later one parent is the parent that can prove they have been the one talking care of the child when it comes to education and medically and have them even on the other parents time?

so all of that applies and I filed on 6/15 just got the email from judge for RCM and when I filed for new court order due to new items I put the case was pending still for 2 counts of DV

dv occurred in 2023. father opened up custody case. he is alcoholic and got in trouble with the law. he went to prison in middle of our case in temporary orders. the court did not care about dv case nor his violent crimes. they gave him 5050, 5 days after getting out of prison without a blink of an eye. we are in temporary orders. will this change help this time?
