As a professor and someone who has chaired an appeals committee for students being dismissed from health profession majors including nursing - the evidence they had on her behavior must have been solid because it is challenging to dismiss students for non-academic reasons.

…some people need to be bullied. And I don’t say that lightly. I’m glad she got dismissed before she could do real damage, it’ll be noted in her record. She’s already invested too much, so she’s not going to change course easily. Hopefully she’ll bounce around programs, and if she finishes, private practice for awhile until her reputation sends her to the verge of poverty and then she becomes an office mean girl paper pusher. Bouncing around, probably working for some insurance provider finding ways to deny people’s coverage, never staying anywhere because nobody wants her around, typing away until she ages out of employment with some minuscule pension, when she’ll have to fight with her own insurance company due to her own waning health.
