so im an electrician. the white wire is you neutral and goes on the silver screws. the black is the hot and needs to go on the brass colored screws otherwise it wont work. as for the ground, it looks like your house has a very old wiring system so it should be fine but ideally youd want that ground attached as well.

girl I love your content but teaching electrical like this is a bad idea.. there are not 2 hot wires, one is neutral and you put them on the wrong screws. also, if there is no ground its smart to put a gfi there. also, use a multimeter to make sure your power is actually off and always screw in all 4 screws

Thats wrong. If there is no ground the ONLY option is a GFCI. Also, black to brass, you wire it backwards

My electrician husband watched this and said it's all fine. Said you only need GFCI in certain locations in your house. 🤷♀️

Before you buy an outlet you should find out what kind of wiring you’re dealing with. Most older home have aluminum wire so you’ll need to purchase an outlet that is compatible with aluminum wire.

Apparently “yo daddy didn’t teach you nothin” hot and neutral reversed and. Also 2 prong outlets can only be replaced with another 2 prong outlet or it has to be gfci protected either by a breaker or receptacle!!
