You definitely DONT need mods to have fun with child sims. You need more than just the base game, but definitely not mods. Definitely one of my favorite life stages to play with.

My sims kiddos are ALWAYS outside playing on their pirate ship, on the monkey bars, playing basketball, drawing, and being imaginative! They're honestly so fun and adorable🥹

im not gonna lie if I'm having a bad day I'll go on my 90s save file and let my kid sims have full autonomy cause it cheers me up seeing them so happy as they play with their toys or dance to kids radio 😭😭

i love playing my child simsss 😭 and if you don’t know what to do w them just use the formative challenges and give them hobbies from the hobby mod that correspond w them, they’ll build a lot of skills that way and develop a personality
