You use the hydraulic jack to lift the car up, set jack stands under the car and then remove the hydraulic jack. How are people possibly making this more complicated than it is

If only using one jack for an extended time I could see in case the hydraulic jack fails but I've never done that. I would use the jack and then place the jack stand under the vehicle. And, if you already have weight on the jack, how the heck are you going to lift the jack to put the stand in place? And if you put the stand in place first, you'd never get the jack under the vehicle. So keep on supportthe vehicle w/ them.

Definitely not certified tech is saying they do it this way. 42 years as a tech, ASE advanced level master tech, Ford Senior master tech in gas and diesel and I’ve yet to see a single person do it this way

Let’s say if you did use your jack stands like that then why does two come in the box? Also the floor jack is durable enough to hold up the car on its own is it not? Just put a jack stand on one side of the car then on the opposite side then lower your floor jack then you don’t have to raise your car up twice like come on people
