@tx.boss.man: People often wonder why I find it so hard to let others in, why I'm not keen on being touched, why I spend holidays alone, or why I don't celebrate my birthday. My childhood was very different from most. I wasn't tucked in at night, and I rarely heard "I love you." Fighting was common. Being left alone in my room during holidays changed me. Watching a man get beaten almost to death in my house on my birthday, then being locked in the garage, completely changed any desire I had for birthday celebrations.
