I’m soooo cheap and act way poorer than I am which turns out to be so helpful because I accidentally have over $20k in the bank, and no debt! I also make like 50k and live in Charleston and own a medically expensive dog. ACT POOR it’s worth it

literally don't use any credit card or afterpay/klarna stuff it is so easy to go into debt with those services it's a system built on people who are not wealthy , but it's a system that unfortunately only makes them poorer

i may not be the best person to talk bc i’m an unemployed teenager and my only income is my allowance and b-day/xmas money, but i don’t think yo should ever use after pay, for me it is destroying your value of money and even though i wouldn’t consider myself a financially responsible person i would never spend the money that i don’t have

I made a rule for myself (and an automation on my phone to go hand in hand with this) that if I am buying a $6 drink from Dunkin I then also have to put $6 towards my credit card. and having to theoretically spend $12 on a small drink from Dunkin stops me in my tracks. this cured my “need” to go to Dunkin twice a day and made me realize I can survive with cheaper options
