@surgephilly: A woman called me a terrorist and threw my microphone at the pride march in Washington DC. The woman told her friends to stop talking to me saying “we don’t talk to terrorists.” When I asked her why she was demonizing me before we even spoke, she snatched my microphone off of my shirt and hurled it into the street. I approached the woman again to try and understand why she got so aggressive. That’s when a man blocked me. He told me to “leave Pride.” I explained that we were on a public sidewalk and that I had a right to be there. He seemed confused so I tried to help him understand what public property is. Unfortunately, I don’t think he was able to grasp the concept. Why is our mic always getting thrown by pridesters”
