@wayuphigher: THE ETERNAL CITY • SILK ROAD • BOQIY SHAHAR • SAMARKAND • UZBEKISTAN Ok, so it’s not the actual Silk Road you guys, but it’s very much near it. LOL. The Eternal City Silk Road (aka Boqiy Shahar) is a great place to spend your evening with family if you’re looking to get some of those dazzling photoshoot ops without the crowds. Although very recently built, and a bit of a touristy place, it’s still very pretty and I would recommend going if you have a spare evening and fancy a Disneyland feel. The amphitheater plays music in the evenings and there is a small fairground next to it (not filmed) where kids can go and enjoy rides. We had dinner here which was great at the setting is really pretty with no bustle. The complex houses a multitude of various shops to explore with crafts such as painting, custom attire and even a blacksmith! It also houses an indoor craft market, and there’s some restaurants that serve great traditional Uzbek food. If you step just outside, you’ll see the amphitheater and a few food trucks and stalls which offer cheaper and smaller snacks. There is also a buggy (costs 10,000 som) that takes you all the way down by the water to the musical water fountain (shows every hour from 6-10pm daily) where there are lost more food huts and stalls.
