And we don’t check the tongues of our babies for just aesthetics, but for nutrition and for communication. You’re trying to promote your company, but your marketing relies on outdated stereotypes. Calling Brazil a “third-world country” and reducing it to favelas is both inaccurate and prejudiced. I’m a medical student at a Brazilian university hospital, and every newborn is routinely screened for tongue-tie, with frenotomy performed when indicated. You’re also wrong about why we do it: the primary goal is to improve breastfeeding, the gold standard for infant nutrition, and to support normal speech development, not because of airway concerns. Brazil is home to SUS, one of the world’s largest universal public healthcare systems, providing free healthcare to the entire population. Maybe promote your company without spreading misinformation about an entire country.
