@jasondoroughauthor: Food in fantasy does more than feed characters. It reveals culture, status, geography, values, history, and personality. Use it to show wealth through lavish feasts versus simple meals, local ingredients shaped by environment, traditions and taboos, character through eating habits, trade routes, and contrasts between social classes. When done well, food makes your world feel lived-in and real. #WritingTips #BookTok #WritersOfTikTok #Worldbuilding #FantasyWriting

Hegdhog :
the manga “Dr Stone” uses food amazingly. I know it’s not a book, but still, it’s kind of important. The better the food is, the better the characters situation is. Geography also matters, a village by the sea only eats fish, and when there’s no fish they starve. When villagers have bad modern food they love it, whereas a modern person with more refined tastebuds hates it. When they start agriculture, they need to find wheat and learn how to grow it. But wheat and bread lets them take longer journeys along with having a stable food system. And of course when they go to america, the cultural food changes to burger🙏
