My daughter loved Barbies when she was little but wouldn't actually play with the dolls. She spent hours designing and building everything for them out of whatever she could find. She's an interior architect student now.

a core memory i have is telling my older brother (essentially my father figure) that I wanted to be a firefighter cause they look cool and they save people and him listing off all the reasons why it would be super difficult for me to become one when I was like 6 completely talked me out of it and I believe its a huge reason why I suffered from lack of self confidence for a big chunk of my life
