The truth is, I’ve made mistakes in my life, especially with someone I considered my best friend and sincerely apologized. However, as I’ve grown older, I’ve realized that that friend never truly forgave me. She constantly brought up my past mistakes and issues whenever situations arose. Often, she would simply ignore me for weeks without explaining her behavior or if there was something I did wrong. This realization led me to understand that I can’t maintain a friendship with someone who can’t grow and evolve alongside me.

the truest of friends also arent scared to call their friends out on their bs. sometimes we need an external voice; to tell us we’re wrong. humans dont always think about how what they did negatively impacts someone. teens especially dont think about it period. the difficult conversations are usually the ones we avoid the most but need to have. i hear this pov, but just because you call someone out doesnt mean you have to forgive them or sit with them anymore. you still get to go, just with your version of peace spoken. food for thought.

I’ve let some people stay too long. I realize now that some people are meant for certain seasons of your life and that’s okay. I just don’t have it in me to over explain myself anymore, I feel like I’m begging someone to stay that doesn’t even want to be there. So I release them.
