Is an MRI useless if I have pain rating to my arm keeping me up at night? I injured my right shoulder and arm. A steriod shot didn't help.

I take a hard plastic ball, lay on it and roll around and dig it in all down my shoulder blade and into my armpit hurts like hell but it helps.
