My mom and dad did the same thing when I was in college. Had a card in my name but linked to their account for payments and such. By the time I opened my own credit card, I had a 700+ (can’t remember the exact number) credit score. Now I have two cards and my scores across all three bureaus are close to the 800 mark! This is absolutely one of the best gifts you could give her.

This is such great parenting! Growing up my parents never taught us anything about money. So in my early adulthood I made so many mistakes. Teaching them young is the best thing you can do for them!

I did the SAME thing for my son. I was a young single mom and didn’t have a lot of money to provide, but I sure gave him a good credit score which can even be more valuable.

When is her bday! My daughter turns 13 on July 24th! We just opened an account for her and added Apple Pay to her phone. It’s so easy to send her cash when she’s with friends

Just never have your kids open up savings accounts! Banks use saving account money from whomever has one open to give to others who needs money yes they put that money back but still sketchy!
