@conqueringbear: The Oka Crisis (also known as the Kanesatake Resistance or Mohawk Crisis) was a 78-day armed standoff between Mohawk land defenders, Quebec provincial police, and the Canadian Armed Forces. Spanning from July 11 to September 26, 1990, the conflict near the town of Oka, Quebec, became a defining turning point in modern Canadian history, bringing systemic Indigenous land rights and sovereignty into the global spotlight.#mohawk #nativetiktok #canada #resistance #sovereignty
proof that the rich use police and military to erase indigenous land just to play golf, risk serving men just to play golf. I think anyone would be mad if you heard your town is gonna remove your sacred burial site of ancestors, past generations and probably recently passed family members and just for rich people to be stepping all over that to play golf.
