that person should not be in the vet field. things happen, money gets tight, you loose documents, or life just threw you a shitty hand for the last few months. I'm not here to judge you as a person if your pet is happy and healthy and in a good environment. should they be fully vaccinated, yes but if they aren't due to x y or z then alright let's make sure they are ok and get them covered today. it's not abuse or neglect unless they are severely sick, or mistreated. Its sad that owners are judged and shamed. makes them not want to come to the vet. I currently work with someone in the vet field who will see that a patient hasn't been in the clinic since 2017 and will immediately jump to "at what point is it neglect?". maybe they moved, maybe they changed vets, maybe the pet passed away and they never fully grieved. I am actively trying to reframe their thinking bc I don't think that it's helpful in the vet field. all in all I'm sorry you had that experience. it shouldn't have happened, and the judgement was not ok on any level.

My 3 year old is 12 pounds and is a little spicy, but he’s still fat and needs to loose weight, obesity is serious in male cats, I work at my clinic and yeah I get it people can be rude, don’t take it personal

My cat was at one point 18 pounds because DESPITE moderating his food he’d get into our elderly dogs food (he likes the water to soak into his dry food), we did everything to try and keep him out of it (lids (he took them off), putting it up (knocked it down)), he’s now 13 pounds because of my cat Bruce

My cat is the exact opposite of yours. I took her to the emergency vet once and they couldn't even do an exam on her because she's so ferocious Haha They gave me some sedatives and told me to give them to her before I bring her back 😂
