@dalsahotaa: Have you ever apologised before asking for something you needed? Or found yourself saying “sorry” before you’d even finished your sentence? For many people with CPTSD, this isn’t simply being polite. It’s a survival response called the fawn response. When your nervous system learned that keeping other people comfortable helped you stay safe, you became incredibly good at reading the room, softening your needs, and avoiding conflict. The problem is that somewhere along the way, your own needs became harder to recognise. This isn’t your personality. It’s something your nervous system learned. And what it learned can also be changed. Because I get asked every day how to change these patterns, I want to say this clearly. You cannot think your way out of a body that still feels unsafe. Healing happens when your brain and body begin having new experiences of safety, calm and stabilisation over time. That’s exactly why I created my CPTSD Neuroplasticity Audio Toolkit. 🧠 Learn more here: https://dalsahota.com/cptsd-audio-toolkit/ #cptsd #complexptsd #fawnresponse #traumahealing #nervoussystem

The quiet is louder :
Apologising and people pleasing, always putting other’s emotional needs 1st. Learning a new way, but it’s so difficult, testing is liberating although uncomfortable. I’m hoping with time it will improve ☺️
