@sbsnews_au: United States President Donald Trump hailed his Iran deal on Tuesday during a speech at a truck manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania. “We’re leaving them without any nuclear capacity. And they’ve agreed to that. And we’re getting along quite well,” the US president said. A tentative agreement reached last week between the US and Tehran allows Iran to start selling its oil freely again during a 60-day period as the two countries continue negotiating key issues. The memorandum of understanding also promised to unfreeze Iranian assets. But Trump’s deal has come under fire for failing to address the reasons the president cited for going to war with Iran on 28 February, including curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions, its missile program and its support for militant groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. Iran says no inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency — the United Nations nuclear watchdog group — are scheduled. But Trump dismissed those claims, insisting Iran has already agreed to the inspections.
