the kitchen thing I'm not a fan of. but the other 2 would piss me off if I were to ever go to the US. I love sparkling water unless it's warm. warm water in general sucks but warm sparkling water is an assault. cold sparkling water is the most refreshing drink ever. needs to be in moderation tho. otherwise you'll feel unwell. and if someone were to bag my groceries for me I'd genuinely go mad. and if they do it slowly I'd be even more mad

one reason why the cashiers are so fast is because many of the items have barcodes on all sides, so when they scan it they don't have to first find the barcode

I moved to the US from Germany when I was 16. I never drank Stillwater until I came to the US. I returned home to Europe after college when I was 23 one of the reasons was sparkling water.

Im Aldi sind die so schnell. Dort ist die Seite, auf dem der Einkaufswagen hinkommt, auch entsprechend klein, damit du dein Zeug einfach schnell in den Einkaufswagen und nicht in Tüten packst

So what you do at checkout is: You put your items from your trolley onto the conveyor belt for scanning, then you put all items back into your trolley, pay and move to the side and then pack your groceries (at your own speed) into your bags. Oftentimes they have a special bench for customers for that purpose.
