Been unemployed since Dec ‘23. Thousands of apps. Just landed a role with 120k base salary + bonus, starting next month. And funny as it sounds…after all this time, im barely even happy about it. I think something in my dopamine receptors broke along the way lol. I was 25 when I got laid off (for the second time), and am 28 now. Just feel like I lost a lot of time. But I hope we can all hit our stride eventually

I was close to 9 years growing my career and thought I would be with the company until retirement. I have been unemployed since June. Had one interview out of some many applications. Now I feel like I’m starting at 36 but this time with 2 children. Keeping the faith and learning as I grow through this transition. Everything is working out for our highest good. 🙏

Coming to this late, but 100% relate. Been unemployed since June 2025 because of fallout from usaid being eliminated. It’s so incredibly hard and lonely, and no matter how much the people in your life love and care about you, they can’t truly understand what it’s like and that makes things increasingly isolating as time goes on, I think. I’ve been through multiple interview processes where I did 3-4 interviews and some sort of assignment, only to be rejected and/or ghosted. I might have to move home at 34 at the end of this year if something doesn’t change. Don’t know what else to say at this point but I think it can be helpful emotionally to know you’re not alone, even from internet strangers, and so sorry to everyone else who is going through this ❤️

I really needed to hear this. I’ve been unemployed for almost a year, and I’m starting to lose faith. I’ve been struggling with a depressive mood, constantly wondering how I ended up here. I’ve always been a hard worker. I earned my PhD, completed many professional courses, and I’ve always been good at what I do. Because of the war, I had to leave my country, and I was fortunate to get a short-term contract. Unfortunately, when the project ended, I found myself completely lost My mental health has been badly affected, and there are days when I can barely leave the house. I’m trying to keep going, but it’s been incredibly difficult
