I mean you're right, and wrong. They love MC and have preferences that match her, yes. but those preferences are there because they're a part of mc, they developed them because she's who she is. if MC was different, they would change their preferences to like how she's changed. it would make them different in a way, so it wouldn't be say the same Sylus from the game but one that fits his new girl better. So you could get a Sylus if he ever became real and chose you, but it would be a Sylus molded to you, not the Sylus from the game. but game Sylus is only for MC and that's who I adore so I resign myself to knowing I partially control her at least.

I feel you're absolutely right. The feeling of having someone like the game characters as an example with me feels like it wouldn't be real. Even if it were, I might be good, but not enough. That's why I just want to look at Sylus. I feel fulfilled because, no matter what, I'll never be as good as MC and the genuine love that Sylus and the other characters give. I wouldn't deserve it, and there wouldn't be anyone like him in real life.🥺

I admire all of them, including the canon MC. I didn't self-insert to MC but rather made her like my own beloved daughter. They've became my ultimate comfort characters and reason to pursue all of my life goals, be inspired and motivated all the time. The 6 men (yes, I've included Ao Yin), became the peak standards and ideals for a real life man if I decide to get into relationship again and spend the remainder of my life with him. They taught me not to settle for less and give myself grace by connecting to high quality type of people. This game refined what I want and need as a woman, as a person and someone who seek good life, since for many years I don't know exactly what I'm gonna do. But since this game became part of my life, I know now and finding out more as I explore life more than I used to do. Despite the issues the developers facing, I'm glad that they made this game and I'm glad that I folded eventually to my friends who introduced me to this game and insisted to try it if I'll like it. Year later, here I am... still playing the game and I will stay until EOS.

I feel you girl. but me personally, I feel more that I'm not an MC. I even dislike MC because her personality is far different from me. for me she is just too conventional and safe. that's why I always create AUs in my head about me being OC in LAD.

i’m gonna be so fr i find mc quite bland. i think it’s to allow players to self-insert if they want but that also means that i don’t find her particularly interesting. i think each LIs type would be quite distinct. sylus would like a more dominant and competent partner, for example. point is, they’re not real and the reason they like mc in the first place is because they’re characters made up by people.
