The show isn’t even about the island being haunted and tom trying to figure it out. It’s always been about a father and his son and the love that tom has for his son despite his own relationship with his own father and the lengths he’d go to keep evan safe and happy. Even toms first scene is him frantically searching for him because he’ll always be top priority.
