Sometimes I get really depressed over how much time it takes to keep my body stable I normally do not share all of the medical interventions it takes to stay out of the hospital To be transparent, this doesn’t count glucose and blood pressure checks every 4 hours. It doesn’t count the random episodes of anaphylaxis & epipen injections, the odd seizure, the medical alerts from the dogs, fainting, the IV meds 3 times a day that prevent me from throwing up the oral meds I take right after. This doesn’t count blood work and dressing changes every Monday. It doesn’t count the endless amounts of appointments and infections from a compromised immune system. It doesn’t count random procedures and surgeries or the in-office injections for pain. It most definitely doesn’t count the tears I’ve shed when a doctor says I have to be admitted again. It doesn’t count how I’ve begged to leave the hospital just because I want to be with the babies, Ruben, and the dogs. It doesn’t count the amount of dissociation it takes just to get through what feels like a never ending amount of health related issues or the intense sick-mom guilt. When taking care of yourself is so time consuming, quality of life can feel diminished It can be really exhausting taking care of yourself and two babies that you love so much. However, sometimes you need space for your own mental health too. Finding balance can be really hard. I am responsible for someone else’s childhood which is why I plan alone time for myself too. It’s been hard for me to let “a village” take over for a bit sometimes. I’ve learned to use my energy wisely so that I can give the people I love the most, more quality time and less time spent exhausted 🫶🏼 #MentalHealthJourney #ChronicIllnessWarrior #MomLife #SelfCare #infusionTherapy #PICCLineLife
