capcom keep mixing and matching parts of the remake and the og. in the OG in the second run (Leon B) Leon goes and saves sherry while Claire is busy in a fight or wtv. . re9 is literally just a alternate alternate timeline cause it doesn't match the oh and barely matches the remake and it still matches it wrong. . example: Leon knows Marvin. BUT the remake timeline is Claire A, Leon B so Leon shouldn't know Marvin.

He did have more of a role with Sherry in RE2 tbf, i think Sherry was more harkening back to what happened after RC when Claire left for Europe and she was taken into government custody and Leon had to become an agent
