this was my favorite ticket to write. I have said for years, the route should be done in such a way that kids should never have to cross in front of the bus. the stop should always be on the right side of the bus, if it is at all possible. I realize that people still pass these busses, but same side stops would help with safety

As a professional driver with 30 years of experience, I set my own rules: 1—when I approach my stop, I block the lane (if the student is at a dangerous corner); I don't care what others think, though whenever possible, I always try to pick up the student on the right-hand side. I do not allow my students to cross the street. I don't care if the route takes longer or requires extra time... to me, they are my priority... and my responsibility

In our district the busses also have cameras just as there are cameras in front of school zones...automatic tickets!!!
