The first game to me will always be better than the second. Obviously im biased and have loved the first game long before the 2nd came out. But its so blatantly clear that the second was catered to a wider audience in a way that made it mainstream (great we have a larger community!!) But it takes away so much of the sheer absurdity and weirdness the first game had that made it so so so unique. It did so well at making you read in-between the lines and understanding the metaphors of the Death Stranding and what it meant for America, a country (meant) for unity. Isolation while also meeting so many people. The entire message of the likes and server system to communicate that we HAVE to uplift the people around us so that we can accomplish our goals. Then maintaining those structures and giving it a story. Death Stranding is a game about an isolated world but has the story of connection and passing along aid for everyone now and in the future. Essentially i love death stranding one because it focuses so much on looking onward and living another day even if it sucks. It will always be my top game of all time and I will love it unconditionally. Thank you Kojima for changing my life from a game with 11 hours of cutscenes, 40+ hours of gameplay, too many unnecessary cutscenes and dialogue, faulty combat, frustrating tasks, and made with pure, unadulterated love. The story of the first was way better. Felt like you did have to work harder too for progress. I love the second one. It was good, but it doesn’t hit the same like the first one.

This game was so incredibly well done. It was by far the hardest I’ve ever cried at a video game in my life all the way up until I played ff16 this game holds such a special place in my heart.

I love death stranding 2... but a lot of the characters had the same personality, especially at the distro centers. If you swapped dialogue with a lot of the distro people, id probably wouldn't even notice. DS1 had a lot more variety
