@evie_brooks: It’s so hard isn’t it ❤️‍🩹 When you want to give your kids the absolute world but you just have to be sensible. I don’t want anyone to get it twisted and think that we’re struggling the to point where we’ve got nothing. We’ve still got a lovely home, food in our tummies and the bills are paid. But this cost of living just absolutely sucks doesn’t it? And there’s nothing like your kids birthday, the one day where you wish money wasn’t an object, to remind you how tough times are right now for normal families like us. My head is telling me, this is enough. But my heart just wishes I could spoil him on his birthday even more, especially after everything he’s been through with his Autism and the DV we suffered. I had a big cry about this last year on here too but I think I’ll just have these feelings every single year. And I suspect it’ll get harder every year too, the more aware of birthdays he gets. I’m not posting this for sympathy or for anything in return… I just hope that any parent seeing this, who feels like the only one who has these feelings when it’s their kids birthdays, doesn’t feel quite so alone ❤️ I can’t believe my baby is going to be 5 - where has the time gone 😭 There’s lots more birthday fun to come, which is going to be VERY normal and realistic. No balloon arch here pals 🤣 Give me a follow if you love honest Mum life because that’s what you’ll get round here ✨ Do you think this is enough? Or should I run out to @smythstoys tonight?? 😅
