Besides, it’s just TOO early. Jimmy just wants her to be happy, and if that ends up happening with him, then yeah, preem. HOWEVER, Kara has a lot to experience before she’s in any relationship.

I don't disagree with this take. I believe Jimmy is genuinely doing what he thinks is in Kara's best interest. However, Jimmy very clearly feels insecure about his self worth. He uses a lot of language like "find someone better" or "just Superman's pal". He feels as though he is not good enough for Kara and encourages her to explore more so that he doesn't potentially get proven right. I think he has good intentions but it's also ignoring how Kara might feel. Yes, she has not interacted with a whole lot of people outside of Jimmy. However, it's very clear that she greatly enjoys his company. I think Kara trusts Jimmy a lot which is why she does take the opportunity to meet more people after their conversation. Kara believes that Jimmy is trying to help her and do what's best for her so regardless of her feelings she chooses to take his advice. I think ultimately the season is going to end with Jimmy learning to value his self worth and Kara asserting that Jimmy is someone that she cares deeply for.

That’s a fumble in my eyes. He didn’t trick her into having feelings for him or have to convince himself that he has feelings for her. When you look at the requirements for a relationship how many things you’ve experienced and the people you’ve met before that person doesn’t matter at all UNLESS it’s a preference thing which it clearly isn’t because he likes her. If she experienced more while they were together and chose someone other than his that’s okay too, but to just say “oh you only like me because I’m all you know so go experience all you can” is not only disregarding her very real feelings for him but his very real feelings for her.

I kind of get this take but also isn’t this applicable to every relationship? In all cases it would be someone else if not you, more experiences to have if you say no, et-cetera. I feel like the train of thought is self-defeating and somewhat belittling to the very real way Kara feels, regardless of personal experience. It’s also extremely self depreciating; “You surely can’t mean you want to be with me, you just haven’t seen other options” just hits me as somewhat insulting to both of them.

I honestly love this character choice. Jimmy seems very aware of the implications of the possible transference Kara may have and like you said, doesn’t want to take advantage of Kara. He cares so much for her that he doesn’t want hold her back from growing into her best possible self.
