‘Having 1 adult near by’ they are 18 they are adults themselves, They are right the be annoyed. You have to trust your daughter, you will push her away. Let her live her life, trust her to make smart decisions and reassure her that if anything happens you’ll be a phone call away, stay at home! You can’t control the actions of other people so don’t take it out on your daughter! Any excuse for a holiday yourself!

As a mum, i had 2 sons that went on a lc holiday, i do understand your concern but i think its wrong to stay in the villa, you could book somewhere near but make a compromise.

Let your child live their own life. They don’t need you over their shoulder.

My 18 yr old daughter went to Portugal after her exams. She had terminal brain cancer. I went to a town around 40 mins away but didn’t tell her. I wanted her to have fun but given her medical circumstances I wanted to be close. Not once though I saw her, I didn’t want to. I wanted her to have all the fun she deserved. My son goes away next week and I’m staying put in Ireland. He’ll figure it all out.

As a parent, one of the most difficult things to do is to take a step back when they turn 18. It's not that you stop being their parent, its that you have to let them start navigating the world without your interference.

It is not their maturity that needs to be called into question it is yours. As the parent of two teenagers I have always understood that the whole point to raising them right is to eventually let them go to trust them and that takes time by you going on this trip with them you are affecting your child’s trust and trust me it will have long lasting implications.

yeah like i get it, but we parents have to let them live their own life make their own mistakes, and i know you want to protect them for the bad things in the world, and that is a hard task to stop doing no doubt about it, but let them go keep in contact is all i could say

Maybe stay in another hotel and be there if needed but definitely not in the same villa. That's just not right
