@thethaigerofficial: Thai households may have been paying far more than expected through electricity bills, with billions of baht reportedly collected each year to cover power used in public areas. The Energy Ministry has now confirmed that the long-running arrangement helps fund lighting on smaller roads, alleys and communal spaces managed by local authorities. Critics are calling for greater transparency and arguing that these costs should come from government budgets rather than consumer payments. Officials are preparing to restructure the system, but several agencies will need to agree on how the expenses should be funded in the future. #ThailandNews #ElectricityBills #EnergyPolicy #CostOfLiving #ThaiPolitics
4 baht per unit is still very cheap, it’s not that bad

Kevin R :
The public has been made aware of how it is being financed. Now just leave it alone. Nobody really complained before and nobody will see a change in the future now. Maybe just make a statement once a year on the amount going to the public roads.
