It’s not a brown snake. It’s actually a Mulga snake (Pseudechis Australis) - highly venomous but nowhere near as venomous as the brown snakes (pseudonaja species). As for your statement yes these snake can and have caused fatalities. Their venom while not as toxic as our dangerously venomous species these snakes are still highly toxic and they have a massive yield of venom which obviously makes up for their lack of toxicity compared to the other dangerously venomous species such as the taipans, browns, tigers, death adders, copperheads etc.
