Well nja, Remus did think Sirius is the traitor because he’s a Black and Sirius thought Remus is a traitor because he’s a werewolf, also Remus was conditioned to think that it was Sirius and Sirius thought that EVERYONE was the traitor(except Peter cus he didn’t view him as a whole person, only an extension of himself and James)

the thing is sirius’s lack of trust for remus was not just purely because he was a werewolf, it was more due to the fact that remus was being sent on top secret missions by dumbledore to spy on werewolf packs. i don’t entirely blame sirius for being skeptical of remus being the spy since spying on werewolf packs meant that he would be surrounded by those who heavily aligned with voldermort and in a war it was easy for one to get manipulated or brainwashed, their lack of trust for one another was definitely more mutual than people think.

nah it wasn't that, maybe the prank bit, but they knew it couldn't be James, and if it was one of them they assumed eachother because they considered themselves the only choices left because Peter was too weak and cowardly. also the Canon reason people believed it was sirius, which Remus was also implied to accept was because of siriuss family history
