He is a active sergeant for the United States Army that title doesn’t disappear when off base it’s no difference then when a police officer is off duty he is still a police officer same goes for retired personnel.

There are a lot of states that says the cops can ID the passengers. That’s been going on for more than 25 years or more in Illinois and Missouri and Indiana

Depending on the state, you do have to give them your name even if you’re a passenger. Don’t have to give them ID, though.

Hey dude, he’s active duty. His rank does not leave him. He’s still a Sergeant and then you want to pat him down what did he do to he put in handcuffs or be patted down yes you had the right to bring him out of the car for your safety. I get that but after that, you’re on a power trip but go figure you’re down by Lawton and you’re a cop and you’re on a power trip.

Yes, during a traffic stop where the driver has an arrest warrant and they must tow the vehicle per that law the police are also authorized to identify the passers!
