1). He could have still gone to the event anyway. He was already going in that direction. If he wanted to go it shouldn't have mattered if anyone else wanted to go. 2). yes it'll release the built up heat especially if your driving with the windows down. it'll also cool the vinyl down in the car which also reduces the over all heat

I have chronic illnesses that heat affects, and only so many hours I have the energy to do things during the day. Turn on the A/C or I’m going home.

i always put the windows down when i get into a hot car, but not while driving with the ac on. i do enjoy turning the ac off sometimes and diving with the windows down but only solo.

As someone whose car ac doesn't really work, I PROMISE you that's not how it works. When I'm driving to an outdoor event, I don't handle it better because I'm already hot. I'm less equipped to deal with the heat than others because I'm already too warm.

Yes rolling down the windows in the car does in fact work on hot days. It is MUCH hotter inside the car than it is outside the car. But not when driving. Once you let the initial heat out, windows should go up and AC should be on when you start driving.
