Decades have passed. The world has changed, cars have changed, and even the energy sources of cars have begun to change. Yet Pirelli still remains one of the most important players in the global automotive industry. Founded in Milan in 1872, the company is today one of the world's oldest industrial brands, with over 150 years of history. Operating in the premium segment, Pirelli produces car, motorcycle, and bicycle tires. However, what sets it apart is not only the tires it produces, but also its investments in technology, research and development, and industrial culture. In the world of Formula 1, many teams fiercely compete with each other. Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, Red Bull, Aston Martin... But they all have one thing in common: tires, the only element in contact with the track. Pirelli has been the sole official tire supplier for the Formula 1 World Championship since 2011. Many people may not know this today, but one of Türkiye's first tire factories was founded by Pirelli. The company began production in Izmit in 1960. In the 66 years since then, Turkey has become one of the important centers of Pirelli's global production network. Today, the İzmit facility plays a strategic role not only for the Turkish market but also for global motorsports. Approximately 75% of the company's worldwide motorsports tire production takes place here.
