I’m from the US, and most of those are bigger than anything I’ve seen in typical restaurants, at least if it was individual plates. Many are meant to be shared with the table.

American here and I couldn't agree more. Our portion sizes here are crazy, so I always take mine home and I usually get four or five meals out of one "restaurant portion".
