From November to March every year, red-billed gulls travel 6,000 kilometres from Siberia and gather at Dianchi Lake and Cuihu Lake. You can easily feed these fluttering white birds amid peaceful lake scenery. As an ancient city with thousands of years of history, Kunming boasts rich historic sites: the landmark Golden Horse and Green Rooster Archway, the historic Yunnan Military Academy, and the serene Yuantong Temple. You get flowers all over China throughout the year, even in the middle of their cities. They actually regularly change their flowers (those in season) around the city, crossroads, city centres and squares, roundabouts and along the roadside and center divider spaces, and parks. That was one of the things I love about China in my 20years living in various Chinese cities!
