This is political framing, not proof.
The letter Sammy posted says Arshid Hussain is being considered for early release. It does not say he has been approved for release or that his release date has changed.
The 33% document also refers to standard determinate sentences. Serious sexual and violent offenders are treated differently, with changes generally being from two-thirds to one-half, not automatically 33%.
So please show the actual evidence: which named serious offender has had their release date changed under this Act, and what sentence category were they serving?
Victims deserve the truth, not politicians using their trauma to stir up outrage.
And if we're going to talk about prison overcrowding, let's remember that the Conservatives were in government for 14 years. The prison capacity crisis didn't appear overnight.
